Sliema Wanderers FC will be holding a reception for members and past and present players this month to mark the occasion when the club won the league championship on three consecutive seasons.

This happened between 1937 and 40, 1963 and 66, and 2002 and 05. In 1964/65 Sliema won the Quadruple Crown for the third time in their history. The honours were the Johnny Walker Cup (league), FA Trophy, Testaferrata Cup and the Independence Cup.

The Sliema players in the Quadruple Crown year were Raymond Cosby, Freddie Debono, Alfred Debono, Joe Aquilina, Lino Falzon, Salvu Bonnici, Emmanuel Micallef, Peter Fitzgerald, Robbie Buttigieg, Edward Aquilina, Charles Spiteri, George Cuschieri, Vincent Vassallo, Joe Cini, Sammy Nicholl and Alfred Pisani.

The coach was Josef Bedl and the club president was Dr George Bonello Du Puis.
