The Union Haddiema Maghqudin has issued directives to its members employed at the ambulance garage as well as Health Department security guards over what it claims is the failure of the department to provide a remedy for various shortcomings.
Ambulance drivers will resort to limited industrial action to press for the installation of ventilation equipment inside the garage. Such equipment was promised three years ago, the union said.
Ambulance drivers were instructed to take the ambulances out of the garage in the morning and leave them parked outside to avoid breathing in the exhaust fumes the union said accumulate inside the garage.
Security guards have been instructed not to move from their place of work.
