A seminar for HSBC Bank Malta's staff and partners was held in conjunction with the Breast Care Support Group in a bid to increase awareness about breast cancer.
The Breast Care Support Group has been holding activities to highlight awareness about breast cancer in Malta and Gozo for a long time.
Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer and the leading cause of cancer deaths among women above the age of 30 in Malta. If detected early through diagnosis, the probability of the cancer being treated successfully increases. The seminar was addressed by Jackie Vassallo, president of the Breast Cancer Support Group, who spoke about the support group and what it does.
Consultant radiologist Malcolm Crockford animated a discussion about the need of regular breast screening.
Louise Agius, HSBC head of diversity, presented a donation to Ms Vassallo.
