Go Mobile, which has just celebrated its sixth birthday, will be launching 3G services in spring and will be offering a range of new services to complement this new technology.
Maltacom Group CEO David Kay told media representatives before lunch last week that preparations are in full swing to ensure that the necessary infrastructure is up and running by the planned launch date.
Go Mobile was already offering unique and advanced services such as TV On Your Mobile - six live streaming channels can be accessed by Go Mobile subscribers - and fast internet access thanks to the introduction of EDGE technology into its network, he said.
The company is offering subscribers special seasonal offers, starting off with a range of quality TV On Your Mobile handsets. The Nokia 6680, the Nokia 6151 the Nokia 6111 are being offered at prices from Lm105 until the end of January.
The handsets also come with 900 free live TV streaming minutes (300 minutes each month for three months) as well as Lm10 free talk-time and 100 free MMSs.
In addition, all new prepaid subscribers who connect to Go Mobile and top up with a minimum of Lm5 will receive 250 free SMSs, which have a 30-day time-window and are valid for all local mobile numbers.
Go Mobile's Keep On Talking offer allows post-paid subscribers to talk for an hour and pay for a minute from Monday to Friday between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday all day.
This offer will run for three months between December and February and applies only between Go Mobile numbers, company director Peter Gauci said.
