Obituary

BALUCI. On December 3, CARMEL ANTHONY (Nenny), aged 81, passed peacefully away at home comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ina and his children Tessa, Anna wife of Paul Gauci, Sandra wife of Alex Attard, Marc and his wife Christine, Paul and his wife Claudette, and Carl, his grandchildren Luisa, Stephen, Joseph, Thomas, Sophie, John and Stella, his brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 2.15 p.m. at St Mary's parish church, Attard followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant him eternal rest.

CALLEJA. On December 3, at St Luke's Hospital, CARMEL known as Chalie, former director of E. Calleja & Sons Ltd., aged 70, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his devoted and loving wife Violet née Deacon, his children Mariella and her husband Jean Buttigieg, Sandra and her husband Dr Eugenio Azzopardi, Stephen and his wife Rachel, Aldo, Christopher and his wife Claire, and his beloved grandchildren Emmanuel, Maria Lara, Jean, Violet, Shirley, Hannah and Andrea, his brothers and sisters and their families, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 2 p.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord grant him eternal rest.

She leaves to mourn her loss her children Josephine and her husband Carlo Zahra, Carmen and her husband Espedito Briffa, George and his wife Tessie of Canada, Joe and his wife Mary Rose, Mary and her husband George Galea, Emanuel and his wife Marie Lourdes, Piju and his wife Pauline, Rita and her husband Charles Maniscalco, Tessie and her husband Joe Bonello, Joan and her husband Joe Farrugia, Gerald and his wife Mary Lou, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

COLEIRO. On December 3, at St Luke's Hospital, AGNES of Balzan, aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Maria Dolores (Dolly) Vella and Maria, her brother Emanuel, nephews and nieces among whom Bishop Annetto Depasquale and her best friend Doris Cassar.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Lord grant her eternal rest.

ELLUL. On December 2, ANTHONY B. (Nonnie), aged 82, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his irreparable loss his beloved wife Mary née Diacono, his daughter Marika and her husband Aldo, his dearest grandchildren Nigel and Michelle, his sister Mary, wife of Frankie Cassar, his sisters in-law Miriam widow of Lawrence, Edwige wife of John Vella Zarb, nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 3.45 p.m. for the old church of St Venera where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. May the Lord grant him eternal rest.

PARIS. On December 2, EMANUEL, known as Lolly, aged 83, born in Floriana and residing in Attard, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Frances née Petroni, his children Mariella, wife of John Falzon, Tonio and his wife Mary Rose, Edward and his wife Miriam, David, Magdalene, Patrick and his wife Therese, Mark and his wife Priscilla, and Sister Michaela of the Ursuline Sisters of St Angela Merici, his grandchildren Alan, Neil, Alexia, Kurt, Krista, Michelle, Matteo and Kirsty, his brother and sister, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Bazaar At Waterfront

A bazaar by the Malta Hospice Movement, the Mission Fund and the Little Sisters of the Poor will be open at Vault Number Six at the Valletta Waterfront between Friday and December 10 from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Dog Show

The Malta Kennel Club held its sixth international show at the Cottonera Sports Complex, which featured a total of 280 dogs from Hungary, Italy, Greece, Cyprus and the UK.

An Alaskan Malamute by the name of Snow Quest Kind Of Landwood imported from America and owned by Denis Ciappara won the event.

Donation To Children's Home

A sum of Lm328, collected in a charity bowling event, has been presented to the Angels Children's Home by the Malta Communications Authority together with the communications industry.

The home, in Addis Ababa, provides care and support for between 20 and 30 children in a family-like environment. It provides street children with food, shelter, clothing and medical support together with psychological aid and counselling.

The centre also provides education and other personal development training.

Fund-Raising Dinner

A fund-raising dinner in aid of ShareMalta Foundation for Homeless Animals, Research and Education will be held at the Castille Wine Vaults, Valletta tomorrow at 7.30 p.m.

Our Lady Of Carafa

The Cathedral Chapter will hold the annual feast of Our Lady of Carafa at St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta, on Friday.

A procession leaves the co-cathedral at 4.30 p.m. and will pass through the main streets of the city. Rosary will be recited and Marian hymns sung during the procession.

Everyone is invited to attend.

Conference On Manufacturing Industry

A conference on the future of manufacturing in Malta will be held at the Westin Dragonara Resort, St Julians, on Thursday between 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m.

Maltese and foreign speakers will address the challenges facing the industry, how it could be given a new impetus, and how the sector can grow within a European framework.

Oil Paintings On Show

Artists Catherine Cavallo and Simon Barthet are holding an oil paintings exhibition at the Casino Maltese, Valletta, up to Wednesday.

The exhibition is being sponsored by Maltacom and proceeds will go to Caritas.

Maltacom CEO David Kay said the company was committed to supporting the Maltese community both in terms of artistic and cultural activities, but also in initiatives aimed at helping people in need.

As part of its corporate social responsibility programme, Maltacom has assisted Caritas Malta for over eight years in continuing its social work to strengthen persons in need both socially and physically.

Mgr Victor Grech, director general of Caritas Malta, thanked Maltacom for its consistent support over the years.

F1 Badge

To commemorate the McLaren Formula One show car's visit to Malta at the Valletta Waterfront, the McLaren F1 Club Malta will issue a rectangular metal lapel badge designed by Charles Micallef.

The pin features the McLaren F1 car and the club's logo with the words MP4-20 and Dec. 2006.
