Why on earth would the hunters need to take their cause to the streets? Last time I checked they could do just about as much as they felt like, when they felt like and basically how they felt like. I believe the situation should be reversed: It should be the people who disagree with hunting to take to the street in protest at the lack of guts the government and police have when dealing with such a stupid hobby as the massacre of birds. Hunters should not be taken seriously. I don't even see why the editor of The Times decided to mark it out as front page news. They should have just been given a small paragraph somewhere in the back pages.

To make matters worse, the federation for hunting and conservation is probably the biggest joke around. Who on earth would place conservation and hunting in the same sentence, let alone in a name of a federation? The placing of a few trees to further enlarge the hunters' kill probabilities does not define conservation.

However, I do see that they are doing an amazing conservation job with the osprey, so a big clap on the back for that job well done. Yet the government gives in fully to these rogues. If it's votes that matter in Maltese politics and the majority of the population are against hunting, then why not ban it outright? That would definitely grab my vote, and a few hundred others.

The federation accused the police of hassling the hunters...well done! Is it true that the police are finally doing something with regards to hunting other than letting them get away with everything under the sun?

It's about time the situation changes. Hunting is an obsolete hobby whose sole purpose is the killing of birds.
