Dennis Cilia, 30, of Attard, was yesterday remanded in custody after being charged with thefts from two chapels in Rabat and Bidnija respectively on Thursday and Friday.

Mr Cilia was allegedly caught by the police shortly after committing the theft in Bidnija.

Inspector Anthony Portelli prosecuted.
