Hundreds of people crowded Bay Street last weekend to join in the fun at a party held to celebrate the complex's sixth anniversary.
Families visited Bay Street on the weekend to participate in the numerous activities. The sporting and children's activities during the day were as popular as the music and entertainment held at the Rotunda with many participating and many others simply enjoying the atmosphere.
Bay Street's marketing and events manager, Martin Sapiano, expressed his satisfaction at the success of B-Day: "The atmosphere was truly magical. The complex was a hive of activity throughout both days and people kept pouring in. It really was a lovely success".
One of the most exciting moments came when Father Christmas descended from the roof on a hydraulic lift to be greeted by the many children waiting for him below.
Another highlight of Sunday evening's celebrations included well-known personality Rachel Vella, presenter of the popular TVM programme Tista' Tkun Int! Rachel was invited to join Malta's very own Walk of Fame and left her handprint in Bay Street's Celebrity Street.
The weekend celebration also featured the Frenzy Mono Band, Ozzy Lino and his Band, Pitch, the Artisans Band and Tony Grimaud and Band as well as the Star to B participants and the Corinne Turner School of Dance.
A cake-cutting ceremony on Sunday was followed by performances by singers Analise and Alison Ellul, Debbie Scerri, the X-Tend Band, Marvic Lewis, J-Anvil, Tristan B, Thea and Friends, duo Natasha and Charlene and Fabrizio Faniello. Funds collected throughout the weekend at Bay Street were presented to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Dar il-Wens and the Cystic Fibrosis Fund.
