Where is the world, especially our Christian Europe, heading?

Some Christian habits are being forcibly removed from some Christian nations on the excuse of being offensive to Muslims. As far as I know Christians never offended Muslim countries, not even at the time of the Crusaders, although these were far from perfect.

'Roamer's Column' (The Sunday Times, November 26) made incredible reading, what with all that is happening in England, about doing away with all references to Christmas, and introducing the word "Winterval".

I have some friends in England who usually send me Christmas cards. Will I receive Winterval cards now? If that happens I will send them all back with a note telling the senders that I do not know what the word means and that I will not celebrate it. I will also tell them that de-Christianisation is not acceptable in my home.

'Roamer' was correct to ask whether the title of Her Majesty as 'FID - DEF' is still applicable today.

Malta was always behind in adapting ways of living, whether good or bad, so this secularisation trend is bound to reach us too.

There will come a time when we will have to remove one of our national feasts, September 8, from our calendar so as not to offend anybody. This will happen if the current trend continues, perhaps aided by progressive politicians, priests or religious.
