UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Dutch side Feyenoord following two separate incidents involving the club's supporters in the last week.

Feyenoord would face charges relating to the throwing of a missile during last week's goalless UEFA Cup match against Blackburn at home and crowd disturbances during Thursday's 3-0 UEFA Cup defeat at Nancy.

Dutch fans were involved in rioting before the game and then caused the match itself to be suspended for half an hour after tear gas used by police to contain further outbreaks drifted onto the pitch.

Feyenoord were already facing an investigation into the throwing of objects by their fans during last week's home game against Blackburn.

The incidents of both matches will be considered by UEFA's control and disciplinary board at the organisation's headquarters next Thursday, with sanctions expected to be announced on the same day.
