The John West Foods Mixed Doubles tournament at the Vittoriosa Lawn Tennis Club (VLTC) came to a close recently.

Such competitions are always popular in local clubs so it was no surprise that this particular event was enthusiastically received by VLTC members.

Couples were grouped in six divisions, according to their tennis ability. All pairs played against each other on a 'best-of-three' format.

The duo made up of Suniel Balani and Alexia Carabott emerged winners in Division One. Clint Cassar and Erika Azzopardi were the runners-up.

Other winners:

Raymond Agius and Angela Portelli (Division 2); Joshua Zammit and Loren Falzon (Division 3); Vince Vassallo and Anna Micallef (Division 4); Mario Gauci and Mary Anne Gauci (Division 5); and Jason Piscopo and Christine Piscopo (Division 6).
