I refer to the items by Candidus II, No News and Public Knowledge both of which appeared in the section On the Dot on November 13 and November 20, respectively.

I wish to point out that all ministries within the government are cooperating in the government's green initiatives. It has to be said that there are a number of initiatives that are ongoing simultaneously. It is the prerogative of each ministry to focus on one initiative as opposed to another.

Current initiatives include waste separation from offices, installation of energy-saving light fittings, installation of photovoltaic cells to generate green energy, and energy audits for offices.

Ministries are allocated an annual budget for these green initiatives and it is the responsibility of the respective green leader to maximise on the use of this budget. New initiatives will be announced for 2007.
