The Malta Darts Association recently organised the 19th Malta International Open at the Dolmen Hotel, Qawra.

The competition attracted 160 participants for both men and women's singles. There were 75 pairs in doubles.

Germany's Michael Rosenauer won the men's title after beating Godfrey Abela 3-2, 3-1 in the final.

Rosenauer eliminated world no.3 and favourite Tony Eccles in the semi-final.

The women's title went to England's Wendy Reinstadtler who had the better of Jacky Hampshire 4-1.

Reinstadtler then crowned her participation with victory in doubles after teaming up with compatriot Amanda Humphreys to beat Ann-Britt Widman, of Sweden, and Germany's Beatrix Krockel 4-1.

England's Eccles and Pieter Otten, of Holland, overcame Stefano Zanone, of Italy, and John Michael, of Greece, 4-1 in the men's doubles final.
