The Malta College for Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) last week launched a Guide to Employers, in collaboration with the FOI. The employer's guide provides a comprehensive directory of benefits to employers through the services offered by the vocational college.

During the launch, Education Minister Louis Galea spoke about the benefits of partnering between MCAST and industry and other economic sectors.

Major companies in Malta have already worked with and are endorsing MCAST as is the FOI, which is encouraging all employers to sustain this success story by establishing closer contact with the relevant institutes at MCAST.

FOI president Adrian Bajada spoke about the need for the education system to adjust to the ever changing needs of industry if we wanted to remain competitive. He stressed that in a globalised world there is no space for keeping the status quo if one wants to keep a place in the business community.

In this regard, the FOI has always recognised the crucial role that MCAST was playing in the preparation of adequate human resources for industry. Mr Bajada said the collaboration should be continuous and on different levels.
