Bishop Mario Grech recently appointed a new editorial board for the Diocesan newspaper Il-Hajja f'Ghawdex.
Joseph W. Psaila was named editor.
Joe M. Attard is assistant editor, Bennie Mercieca administrator, Fr Anton Sultana publisher, and Dr Mario Saliba, Mgr Salv Grima, and Francis Sultana are members of the editorial board.
Mr Psaila was born in Victoria, on March 14, 1943. He studied at the Gozo Lyceum, St Michael's Teachers' Training College (1962-1964), and the Istituto Superiore di Educazione Fisica in Rome (1969-1972).
He was head of the Gozo Sports Complex, chairman of the Gozo Sports Board, a member of the Malta Council for Sports and secretary of the Kunsill Nazzjonali Kurrikulu, and has worked in a number of Catholic organisations.
Mr Psaila had two poetry anthologies in Maltese published - Graffiti f'Gerduf (1999) and Xehwat (2003), as well as a number of essays in Maltese and English published in newspapers and journals.
He is married to Mary Jane; they have three children: Anslem, Ivana and Anna Maria.
