Obituary
CUTAJAR. On November 23, at St Luke's Hospital, JOHN, aged 79, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmelin, his children Carmen, Andrew and his wife Carmelin, Vivianne and her husband Martin Debono, Alice widow of Joe Cardona, Nadia and her husband Ron Corderey, grandchildren Silvana and her fiancé Andrea, Mark, Clifford, Diane and her huisband Patrick, Christine and her fiancé Kenneth, Silvianne and her fiancé Matthew, Edward and Jonathan, his great-granddaughter Mariah, his sisters, Sr Agostina of the Sisters of Charity, Nelly widow of John Borg, Carmen widow of his brother Joseph, his friends of the Society of Don Bosco, other nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 1.45 p.m. for St Francis church, Birkirkara where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.15 p.m. followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors. Lord grant him eternal life.
DEACON. On November 23, at St Luke's Hospital, GELTRUDE, aged 66, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sisters Doris and her husband Victor, Edwidge, Violet and her husband Charles, Grace, widow of her brother Joseph, and most of all her youngest sister Bice, her nieces and nephews, Helen, Marion, Marthese, Jacqueline, Mariella, Sandra, Stephen, Aldo and Christopher, their respective husbands and wives, their children, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Helen's Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Villa Mgr Gonzi, Siggiewi, will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.
FRIGGIERI. On November 23, at her residence in Pietà, RITA, widow of Frank, born in Tripoli, aged 83, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Saviour, Mario Guido and his wife Oriola, Miriam, Lydia and her husband Joseph Zammit, her grandchildren Frank, Timothy, Christopher, James and Clarissa Angela, her sister Sr Maria Anna Schembri of Bon Pastur, her husband's brother John C. Friggieri, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital today at 1.45 p.m. for Fatima Sanctuary parish church, Guardamangia where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated.

SCERRI. On November 23, at home, JOHN, of Marsascala, formerly of Hamrun, aged 70, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Martha née Gauci, his daughter Sandra and her husband Stephen Gravino, his grandsons Simon and Keith, his brother Edward and his wife Marlene, his sisters Mary Scerri and Yvonne Simiana, his in-laws Doris and Victor Caruana, Josette and John Finn, both of Canada, Tanya and Stanley Borg Cardona, David and Claire Gauci, Michael and Annelise, Anna and Christopher, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends in Malta and Canada.
The funeral leaves St Luke's Hospital tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. for St Anne parish church, Marsascala where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m. followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. WIRTH. On November 23, MARY ROSE, née Coppini, widow of Henry Richard, aged 85, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved children Valerie and her husband Arthur Cassar, Mary Anne, Noel and his wife Marthese, her grandchildren Mark, Christianne, Benjamin and Michael, her sister Helen Formosa, her brother Louis Coppini and his wife Blanche, other relatives and friends. - R.I.P.

Lectures On Court Delays, Med. Security
Social anthropologist Michael Herzfeld of Harvard University will give two public lectures organised by the Anthropology Division of the University of Malta.
One lecture will be about the Legal Culture and Court Delays in Malta and Italy, delivered during a Work In Progress Seminar at the University, Gateway Building, Hall E on December 4 from 6 to 8 p.m.
A lecture about the Multiple Meanings Of Security - The Cultural Aftershocks Of Colonialism In The Mediterranean World, co-chaired by Foreign Minister Michael Frendo and Dr Paul Clough, will be delivered at the Aula Magna, Old University, Valletta on December 6 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Besides being a professor of anthropology and curator of European ethnology in the Peabody Museum at Harvard, Prof. Herzfeld is the author of nine books dealing with anthropology. He was also awarded for a series of publications on cultural identity in modern Greece.
Bypass Closed
The St Paul's Bay bypass will be closed to traffic between 9 a.m. and noon tomorrow due to works in progress.
Vehicular traffic will be diverted through St Paul's Bay. Access to Tal-Fjuri for residents will only be permitted from the Xemxija Olympic Grove roundabout side.
