Opposition leader Alfred Sant has paid tribute to Labour stalwart Alfred Mifsud, the lawyer, who died on Monday.
He described Dr Mifsud as a genuine person who always gave his services to the Labour Party and socialist ideals with an honest and clear commitment.
The Labour leader said Dr Mifsud was one of the courageous lawyers who defended Labourites arrested in 1958 after protesting against the colonial government.
Dr Sant said he had got to know Dr Mifsud over the past few years and admired his work. Dr Mifsud was correct in his behaviour towards others while maintaining his Labour beliefs.
