The letters appearing recently following the move of Fr Emanuel Camilleri from Sta Marija church, Birkirkara to the parish of Msida seem to imply that the Curia capriciously effects these moves.

I am sure there must be a thousand reasons for every move and I am the last one to criticise decisions taken. It is always sad when moments such as these occur and one must thank God for all the benefits reaped.

We too, at Msida, had to see our parish priest, Fr Valentino Borg, leave, also after less than four years admirably serving his parishioners. If it was restoration work in Birkirkara, for us it was the preparation work leading to the construction of the long-expected and much needed parish centre which Msida does not have.

We are sure that Fr Camilleri will be contributing his experience and energy to see this project materialise, besides seeing to the spiritual welfare of parishioners.

We trust in the Lord that the parish of Sta Marija, Birkirkara will soon be enjoying the fruits of a worthy replacement.
