World War II Gunner Stan Fraser will be donating a digital copy of his photo and film collection to the National Archives of Malta.

The digitisation project was made possible through the sponsorship of the Farsons Foundation. The collection was prepared for presentation on the initiative of Veronica Galea.

A formal agreement regarding the donation will be signed on Friday.

Samples from the collection were displayed during National Archives Awareness Week at the National Archives headquarters in Rabat, which ended on Saturday.

A full exhibition of the Fraser Collection is planned for late next year when a digital copy of the collection will be formally handed over to the National Archives of Malta.

Mr Fraser served in the Royal Artillery from 1939-1945 and during the siege of Malta from 1941-1943. He served at Hagar Qim as an anti-aircraft gunner, taking numerous photographs and cine film of those momentous events.

In 1992, he donated four 3.7" Heavy Anti-Aircraft Guns to Malta. They are a tribute to those who served in Malta during World War II.

Mr Fraser's story is narrated in The Guns Of Hagar Qim, available from Wise Owl Publishers.
