The Forum Malta fl-Ewropa, in collaboration with the Malta Qualifications Council, will hold a conference for stakeholders entitled From National to European: Linking Qualifications Frameworks Effectively.

The conference will be held at the Hotel Intercontinental, St Julians, on November 29 from 8.3 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Forum said the European Qualifications Framework, as proposed by the European Commission, is expected to provide a common language to describe qualifications.

This in turn will help member states, employers and individuals to compare qualifications across the EU's diverse education and training systems.

A national qualifications framework is a way of showing the relationships between qualifications in a country or education or occupational sector - an instrument for the development and classification of qualifications according to a set of criteria for levels of learning achieved.

Participation in the conference is free of charge but prior registration is highly recommended in view of seating restrictions.

Registration must be effected by noon on November 27.

Registration forms may be e-mailed to Brian Pace at brian.a.pace@gov.mt or faxed to 2122 7580.

For further details and assistance on this event, contact Mr Pace on 2590 9321.
