What has Louis Parnis got against Comino (Why Not Comino For A Wind Farm, November 6)? I don't know where he gets the idea that the island is unreachable for most of the year as the hotel is open for seven months of the year. The island is also one of the most visited sites in the Maltese islands. The Blue Lagoon is a treasure.

Regarding his statement that Comino does not contribute a single cent to the islands' economy, is he suggesting that the owners of the hotel and all the tourist boat operators do not pay taxes to the government and that the 6,000-7,000 tourists who stay at the hotel each summer don't spend any money sightseeing on Malta and Gozo? The hotel also invests in the local economy by buying supplies and food. I suggest that Comino more than pays its way as government expenditure appears to be minimal, having no roads to maintain, no speed cameras to empty, no criminals to arrest.

Has Mr Parnis ever seen or - more importantly - heard a wind farm? It's like having a fleet of propeller aircraft in your back garden. Even the Prince of Wales objected to a wind turbine on land neighbouring his estate on grounds of noise and we all know how green he is.

Perhaps Mr Parnis might like a wind farm in his hometown of Fgura but then again, I think not.
