I would like to remind Ms Maria Williams (The Sunday Times, November 12) that the last time we had a circus in Malta we were promised either by the local organisers or the government (I can't remember who), that no more circuses with animals will be brought here again.

The promise was made after protests by Maltese animal lovers. I am sure some one remembers - especially whoever made the promise.
