October 24 was a special day at Dun Frans Camilleri Primary School, Hamrun. It was Open Day to coincide with European Day of Parents and Schools.

Parents were invited to school to witness various lessons, ranging from fun with shapes and colours in the Kindergarten classes to fun with letters, Maths, Maltese, English, Scienc and the expressive arts in primary classes.

Parents, who observed Kindergarten assistants and teachers in class, also had the time to interact with their children during class activities. It was so much fun for the little ones to have their parents near to help them with sorting and pasting shapes and watching and helping them knead play dough to develop their fine motor skills.

For the older children, this was an opportunity to show their parents how learning can be fun through class games and activities.

Open Day was a success and a positive experience for all.

Further activities for parents were a talk by Ms Satariano on "Child Behaviour" and a cultural visit to Mdina. Such visits are intended to help parents enhance their knowledge about places of interest the children come across in their social studies syllabus.
