Brazil players not after money only says Dunga

Brazil coach Dunga said yesterday it was a mistake to think his team were only interested in money and added he was delighted with the attitude of his players.

"They are very different to what some supporters or people may think, which is that they only play for money. I'm very happy to work with these players," Dunga told the Brazilian Football Confederation's website.

Dunga, unbeaten after five games in charge following Wednesday's 2-1 win in Switzerland, replaced Carlos Alberto Parreira after Brazil's disappointing World Cup. The defending champions were knocked out in the quarter-finals by France and accused by their supporters of lacking commitment and fighting spirit.

"We have the best players in the world, some of them successful financially, but they play for us with pleasure and show they are proud to wear the Brazil shirt," Dunga said.

Dunga has already selected 37 players for his squad, from top names such as Ronaldinho, Kaka and Robinho to little-knowns such as Santos reserve left back Carlinhos.

He has also not been afraid to leave the big names such as Ronaldinho on the bench as he experiments with his team.
