A 32-year-old foreigner was robbed and seriously injured by two men in Bahar ic-Caghaq at 3 p.m. yesterday.

The aggressors were probably foreigners, the police said.

The police said the thieves sprayed something in the victim's direction, stole his money, which amounted to a considerable sum, and fled in a vehicle. The victim was taken to St Luke's Hospital by ambulance where he was certified to be suffering from serious injuries. He is not in danger of losing his life.

Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli appointed several experts to help in an inquiry.

The police are investigating.
