The Peugeot League continued last weekend with three matches. As expected, joint-leaders Hibs Medsea and Depiro recorded easy wins over Sliema Wanderers and SN Suns J.C. Installations respectively. Luxol obtained their first victory at the expense of Kerygma.

After their upset to Depiro, Luxol found little difficulty to see off Kerygma, 73-39. Guided by player-coach Ruth Spiteri, Luxol began to pull away from their opponents midway through the first session, storming 21-10 in front.

Luxol led 34-24 at half-time but Kerygma reduced the gap to five points, 34-29, in the opening minutes of the third quarter. Luxol soon regained control to open a strong 21-point lead (53-32) before the start of the final quarter. There was no change to the pattern of the game in final minutes as Luxol administered their lead.

Champions Hibs were never troubled by newcomers Sliema, winning 88-29 after leading 50-5 at half-time.

Likewise, Depiro easily accounted for SN Suns, 77-20. Depiro had all but sealed their victory by half-time as they led 41-11.

Standings: Hibs, Depiro 4; Luxol 3; Loyola, Kerygma, SN Suns 2; Sliema Wanderers 1. (Loyola and Sliema have played a game less).
