She leaves to mourn her loss her brother Joe and his wife Iris, her sisters Daisy widow of Joe Anastasi, Della wife of Graham Hennessy, Carmen wife of Victor Portanier, her niece Elizabeth and her husband Tony Sant Fournier, her other nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Casa Antonia, tomorrow at 2 p.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siggiewi or the Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Bay Music Awards

The third edition of the Bay Music Awards (the BMAs) will be held at the Eden Arena on December 12.

The nominees are to be voted for by 89.7 Bay listeners via SMS. There is a mobile number for each category and people voting should send an SMS with the name of the singer/band. Voting is now open and will remain open until December 6.

Those voting also have the opportunity to win prizes.

For the first time, a live broadcast of The Bay Music Awards will be aired on TVM starting at 10 p.m.

A new Viewers' Choice Award will be introduced, with TV viewers able to vote for their favourite performance of the night. Phone Bills Lottery

Maltacom customers paying their telephone bills electronically will now be automatically eligible to participate in a monthly lottery with a chance to win Lm50 worth of telephone calls.

With web4me, one can access a telephone account through internet and download bills, undertake payments and obtain itemised information about recent calls.

Those wanting to opt for e-billing and participate in the lottery must subscribe to the web4me. Existing web4me users can log into web4me and fill in the preferred billing method online application form, available in the menu.

Customers will also benefit from a three per cent discount on the value of the current bill and a further reduction of 50c if one's bill is paid online by the payment due date. Only customers who have opted for e-billing, who do not have any outstanding bills and arrears, and have not been penalised a charge of Lm1 for late payment can participate in the lottery.

Programme On Ageing

The Malta-based United Nations' International Institute on Ageing will run an international short programme in Demographic Aspects of Ageing and its Implications for Socio-Economic Development, Policies and Plans.

The programme will be held at the Imperial Hotel, Sliema and the University of Malta, Tal-Qroqq, from today to November 24.

One of the aims of the programme, which is designed by an international expert group and co-ordinated by Julian Mamo, is to achieve a working knowledge of demographic concepts and techniques.

Thirteen participants from Bangladesh, Bulgaria, India, Lesotho, Peru, Russia, Senegal, South Africa, Ukraine and Vietnam are taking part.

Short Films

The European Commission's Permanent Representation in Malta is receiving expressions of interest for the screening of Maltese short film productions for the ninth edition of the European Film Festival in March 2007. This year the festival will include one night dedicated to Maltese short film productions. Both the European Film Festival as a whole and also this part are non-competitive and with an open theme. Preference will be given to films primarily portraying Maltese culture and/or tradition.

The representation will request an independent panel of experts to select three entries for screening on one night. The producer/director will also be given the opportunity to present the film before its screening on the night.

Interested parties are invited to submit an application through the representation's website at www.delmlt.cec.eu.int by November 24.

Culture Funding

A seminar on funding opportunities for the culture sector will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta on November 21 between 9 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

The seminar will provide an overview of European funds such as the new Culture Programme (2007-2013) and the Media Programme, and national funding opportunities.

The second part of the seminar will consist of three simultaneous workshops focusing on different areas of funding: Structural Funds (2007-2013), the European Cultural Foundation and the audiovisual sector.

Talks For Carers

Two sessions for carers and relatives of people with dementia will be held at 5, Lion Street, Floriana today and on November 27 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Today's session will be delivered by Antoinette Attard and Isabelle Avallone and will deal with living with and caring for a person with dementia.

Charles Scerri will lead the November 27 session on tips for carers.

For those carers who cannot leave their loved ones at home by themselves, activities for people with dementia will be provided.
