I refer to the article titled "Scrap that noise" (The Sunday Times, October 29).

Contrary to what was stated in the article, the MSA has no enforcement duties on noise emissions. The MSA is an authority established by means of Chapter 419 of the Laws of Malta (Revised Edition) and has as its mission the development and fostering of the quality infrastructure in Malta.

The MSA Website (www.msa.org. mt) details all the quality activities the authority is involved in and is responsible for.
