What is the role of the National Euro Changeover Committee?

The National Euro Changeover Committee (NECC) was set up by Government to oversee and manage the transition from the Maltese lira to the euro.

NECC's mission is to achieve an efficient changeover process by providing information to the public through an effective communications campaign and by providing the strategic framework for changeover preparations to be done at a national level.

Will NECC be reaching out to all sectors of society?

NECC will be providing information to the public at large. Specific target groups include the consumers, the elderly, children, the business sector and any other specific sectors of society in need of particular attention.

The provision of information will intensify the closer one gets to the actual changeover date. Conversion charts, ready reckoners and calculators will be provided in due time.
