Embellishment works in Qrendi

The embellishment works being carried out in various localities are meant to highlight the characteristics of Maltese towns, Ninu Zammit, Minister for Resources and Infrastructure, said during a visit to such works in Qrendi yesterday.

The works on the church parvis and Santa Marija square cost Lm100,000. Rokku Buhagiar Street that leads to the centre of the town and Santa Marija square will be reconstructed using concrete blocks in the zone used for traffic while the benches and pavements will have a more uniform design, the ministry said. Enemalta overhead lines are to be removed and laid underground. The works are expected to be completed by the first quarter of next year.
