I fully agree with Charles Micallef about the type of films that are being produced. Unfortunately, it is the revenue gathered from cinemagoers that keep this lucrative business going.
To put an end to this type of violent and senseless films, we need to take positive action. A positive action may be to look out for films which are not only humorous but do not leave you troubled or stressed.
Mr Micallef speaks also of "change", stating that it is the cause of stress. In my opinion, change is not stressful, it is our attitude towards it that is. Change may mean leaving our comfort zone and habits. In this case, if one wants to see films which have a lower impact on our adrenaline, then one needs to make this change and refuse to see such films. We cannot just complain, we need to participate. The choice is always ours.
Lately I accessed a website which Mr Micallef may be interested in. It is called www.spiritualcinemacircle.com. It consists of non-violent films which not only act as stress therapy but, more than that, they contain stories which are simple and yet thought provoking. They are not religious films but films based on everyday reality.
