Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has insisted that the door to the Azzurri squad is open to everyone.

Brazilian-born Palermo forward Carvalho Amauri is considering committing to Italy, but Donadoni has stressed that he will not put any pressure on the 26-year-old.

Antonio Cassano, meanwhile, is not playing regularly at Real Madrid, while Alessandro Del Piero was angry at being axed by Donadoni last month. However, Donadoni is adamant that anyone can force their way into his plans if they do well enough for their clubs.

"My idea is to give a chance to everybody, even if not everyone can play for the national team," he told Corriere dello Sport.

"I am very clear about Amauri. First he must become an Italian citizen, then he could be called up. It is not a race with Brazil to see who will call him up first."

Italy's domestic season started late this year and the national team picked up just one point from their first two Euro 2008 qualifiers, and Donadoni has applauded the decision to bring forward the start of next season's Serie A.

"I am happy the season will begin on August 19. It would be a mistake not to support the national team," he said.
