Dunstin Brownrigg, 22, from Tarxien, was yesterday imprisoned for five years and fined Lm2,500 after being found guilty of trafficking ecstasy.
Mr Brownrigg was accused of dealing in ecstasy on September 23, 2004 after drug squad police officers found him in possession of 868 tablets.
He pleaded guilty to the charges and after considering the problems the accused was facing, the court felt it should abide by the recommendations made by the prosecution and the defence that the accused should be jailed for four years as well as be fined.
Police Inspector Norbert Ciappara prosecuted.
