La Salle cause first upset of the season

La Salle Vitality caused the first major upset of the season after handing champions Aloysians their first defeat in the women's league.

Aloysians started the match on a sound footing, opening a three-goal advantage in the initial stages.

However, they failed to maintain the momentum and, five minutes into the second half, found themselves trailing La Salle 11-10.

La Salle had goalkeeper Dorianne Tabone in excellent form to keep them in the reckoning.

Setting the rhythm of the match, La Salle were in control and pounced on all mistakes by their opponents to win 18-14.

La Salle now have a three-point lead over Aloysians at the top of the standings.

In the men's championship, Kavallieri Foster Clark and Aloysians ProMinent settled for a 23-23 draw.

This was an uneventful encounter, played at a very slow pace.

Kavallieri and Aloysians remain behind leaders La Salle Nespak in the standings.
