Four businessmen yesterday filed a libel suit against the Nationalist Party and the editor of In-Nazzjon over a news item centred around a trip to Dubai with a Labour Party delegation.
Carmelo Penza, Raymond Vella, Patrick Dalli and Dennis Baldacchino filed four separate suits in the Magistrates' Courts against Jean Pierre Debono, the assistant to the information director of the Nationalist Party, and the paper's editor Alexander Attard over an article entitled Skandlu Laburista f'Dubai - L-istess deputati u kuntratturi Laburisti kienu involuti fl-iskandlu tal-Lay Lay (Labour scandal in Dubai - the same Labour MPs and contractors were involved in the Lay Lay scandal) published on November 1.
They claimed that the article, which appeared on the front page of the newspaper, was libellous and defamatory.
Lawyer Philip Galea Farrugia signed the suit.
