Charity Dinner

An Italian buffet dinner will be held at the Hilton on Friday to raise the Lm500 target for Cleon Axiaq who was born with spina bifida.

Cleon, 13 has undergone several operations, although there is still one operation he still needs so as not to suffer when sitting in a wheelchair. Money is needed for him to travel to London with his parents and to have the operation.

During the dinner, girls from the City of London Bar led by Asia Caruana and Jenny Clifford will be going round the tables asking guests what the final amount of money collected will be. The person predicting the correct amount collected at the end of the night will win a two-day stay including breakfast at Ta' Cenc hotel. Other prizes will be given away on the night.

Marriage Refresher

The Families for Christ group is organising another Marriage Investment Weekend to be held at the Suncrest Hotel in Qawra between November 17 to 19.

Families for Christ is a community dedicated to the renewal of the family. It was founded 11 years ago and is led by Joe and Marie Sammut.

The weekend is designed to give married couples the chance to refresh their relationship.

The main speaker will be Elias Vella who has a vast experience in counselling and guiding couples through their marital journey. His practical advice aids couples to identify their weakest points. One session will deal with children and teenagers.

Music And Art

Richard Saliba will present an exhibition of paintings and etchings at the Sliema Band Club on November 17 at 7.30 p.m. The inauguration will be followed by a concert by the Euro Academy Orchestra directed by Manuel Pirotta. The orchestra will perform The Sleigh Ride by Mozart; Conquest of Paradise by Vangelis; Triumphal March by Prokofiev; Two Lyric Pieces by Grieg; Dance of the Tumblers by Rimsky-Korsakov, and Fanitiza March by Franz Bon Suppe.

Also at the band club on November 19, pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa and trumpeter Joseph Chircop will present a programme of works by Mozart at 10.30 a.m.

Weddings Fair

A meeting for exhibitors was held recently at the Trade Fair Grounds in Naxxar prior to the 11th edition of the Weddings Fair, which will kick off next Wednesday and end on November 19. Points and suggestions from two surveys conducted during and after the 10th edition of the fair were taken on board to improve the exhibition.

The 6,000 sq metres of stall space will be turned into seven halls, five marquee tents and three gazebos. About 200 exhibitors will be taking part. The fair will be open between 6 and 10.30 p.m. on November 15 and 16; on November 17 and 18 till 11 p.m. and on Sunday non-stop from 11 a.m. till 9 p.m.

Satire Festival

Bla Kondixin, the festival of satire, will be back at Sir Temi Zammit Hall at the university on November 17, 18, 19, 24, and 25 and between December 1 and 3 at 7.30 p.m.

The theme this year is The Strina Marathon, the annual event that raises funds for the needy during Yuletide. Epilepsy Meeting

The Caritas Malta Epilepsy Association will hold a meeting for members at 5, Lion Street, Floriana on Friday at 6 p.m.

Dog Needs Home

A two-year-old pure Boxer named Rocky by the Abandoned Animals Association (AAA) needs a house where he can roam around freely, preferably in a garden.

Described as friendly and very hyperactive by the AAA's Freddie Fenech, the dog has to be inoculated. Being playful, boxers have been described as very well behaved.
