Massimo Cremona retained his no.1 position in the world rankings following the latest list issued by the sport's world body FISTF at the end of October.
This is the second successive month that Cremona is at the top of the rankings. He now has 3,184.88 points. The October list finds the Maltese player ahead of Dutch player Eric Verhagen, 2,919.50, and Vasco Guimares, of Portugal, 2,319.50.
The other Maltese players in the top 50 of the world rankings are Joseph Mifsud, no.9 (1,152.20), Hansel Mallia, 16th (999.75) and Mark Gauci, 32nd (648,75).
Meanwhile, last weekend Cremona's team Perugia reached the final of the Coppa Italia but were again beaten by Napoli 2-1.
A week before in Lisbon, Napoli also had the better of Perugia in the prestigious Champions League final.
