In the wake of the Central Bank's decision to increase the central intervention rate by 0.25 per cent, Bank of Valletta has decided to raise its interest rates on term deposits and loans and overdraft accounts denominated in Maltese liri.

The interest rates on term deposits have been reviewed upwards and have been increased by up to 0.25 per cent, with effect from Thursday. Debit interest rates on loans and overdrafts as well as on credit cards have also been increased by 0.25 per cent with effect from the same date.

HSBC Bank Malta announced on Thursday it had raised interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75 per cent.
