The embellishment project in Birzebbuga being carried out by the government is in its final stages and should be completed by the end of the year, Resources and Infrastructure Minister Ninu Zammit said when he inspected works on site.

The work started early this year and had then covered the garden and parking area behind the church. However, the minister said, work on the church parvis could not be carried out during the summer because of the feast.

The parvis has now been embellished and a parking area constructed next to it.

The work is being carried out by government workers at an estimated cost of Lm180,000.
