HSBC raises interest rates

HSBC Bank Malta has raised its interest rates by 25 basis points to 3.75 per cent following the Central Bank's decision to increase the central intervention rate by the same level.

HSBC said that as from last Wednesday, its interest rates on loans and advances linked to the base rate were automatically increased by 0.25 per cent. The bank also revised the debit interest rates on credit card lending and credit interest rates on Maltese lira fixed deposits.
