A Zabbar man has been jailed for two and a half years after confessing of stealing diesel and defrauding a contractor.

Ronald Cutajar, 28, pleaded guilty to stealing the fuel and defrauding V & C Contractors Limited of over Lm1,000 on and before March this year.

He also admitted to the possession of cocaine, breaching the conditions laid down by a previous court and relapsing.

Magistrate Saviour Demicoli noted that Mr Cutajar had filed an early guilty plea and cooperated with the police.

Police Inspector Angelo Gafà prosecuted.
