The Labour Party has accused the Prime Minister of arrogance for failing to react to party leader Alfred Sant's proposal to slash the electricity surcharge by up to a half.

The Labour Party reiterated that the readjustment of the surcharge to 59 per cent did not reflect the downward trend in oil prices.
