An eight-month old Great Dane pup, named Smokie by the Abandoned Animals Association (AAA), needs a house where he can roam freely, preferably in a garden.

Described as quiet, friendly and very playful by the AAA's Freddie Fenech, the dog will need treatment by those adopting him for Sandfly, which is highly curable and not contagious. Other than that, the dog has been described as very healthy and has been inoculated against diseases.

Although having a caring owner is extremely important, those considering adopting this dog should know that Great Danes require extra care. Mr Fenech said this breed demands an average of Lm3 food per day as well as supplements such as calcium.

The AAA have opened a charity shop in Valley Road, Msida. Persons wishing to donate items to be sold at the shop and help raise funds for the AAA are welcome to do so.

The AAA can be contacted on 7929 7930/9946 4182.
