St Sebastian Primary School, Qormi is now in its third year of the second Comenius 1 project it is co-ordinating entitled "Eurokids knowing me knowing you". The school shares its work with two partner schools from Belgium and other schools from The Netherlands, Denmark and Finland. The project is financed by the EUPU Socrates office, Malta.

Parents also participate in the project. Guests from the partner schools visit the school regularly, talking to the children about their country.

The school's first three guests this year were Eric Holmberg and Eliisa and Tapio Heiskanen. They visited our school earlier this month thanks to Mr and Mrs Camilleri, parents of children at our school.

Great interest was shown in our school by these guests, two of whom are teachers. Mr Holmberg delivered a talk to the children, showing them pictures of Finland on a big screen. The children showed great interest and even managed to say thank you and goodbye in Finnish. The guests also commented on the good behaviour of our children.

I thank the parents as they take great interest in all we do, for all their co-operation and support. This helps us in our work as educators and also raises the children's self-esteem. I also invite other parents to inform us when they happen to have friends from abroad, especially from partner countries, wishing to visit our school.
