Xerox Colour eMotion

Image Systems Ltd, in collaboration with Xerox, recently organised Colour eMotion. The event, held at the Hilton Conference Centre, consisted of two sessions, one targeted at the office environment and another aimed at the printing and graphic arts industry.

The focus of the event, as the title highlights, was colour. Ayman Mattar, Xerox regional marketing manager, stressed the importance of colour in today's office environment. Research has proven that using colour in business documents can have measurable results. Colour has been proved to increase readers' attention spans and recall by 82 per cent.

Xerox colour technology is making it easier and more affordable to add the value of colour to all kinds of documents. Cost is becoming less of a concern, as the price of equipment and the cost per page for colour printing continues to be driven down.

In the graphic arts session, Jonathan Wilson, Xerox production colour marketing manager, explained how the market is shifting towards digital printing.

To maximise profitability, print service providers must embrace technologies that enable greater workflow efficiency and productivity to handle the increase in smaller jobs and the faster turnaround requirements.

High value solutions that employ variable data content used for personal marketing programmes, high impact bills and other new applications will increase demand for digital printing.

Terry Garvey, representing EFI, one of Xerox's partners in the industry, gave participants an overview of the Splash GX250 colour server. Targeted for demanding graphic arts professionals and production environments, the splash GX250 offers premium features including unique colour management and colour quality assurance tools, and advanced job management and submission tools.

Mr Garvey showed how using the splash server and Xerox equipment combined, companies have taken advantage of the many capabilities of digital printing.

During a reception that was held afterwards, guests had the opportunity to view the whole range of Xerox colour products, including the wide format range.
