A representative of a turnkey company was yesterday charged with eight counts of misappropriation and fraud when he allegedly took deposits on works that were never carried out.

Simon Zammit, 39, of St Paul's Bay, pleaded not guilty to committing the crimes as a representative of Island Turnkey Company Ltd and relapsing in the past years. He was granted bail on condition he does not leave his home and was bound by a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police Inspector Ian Joseph Abdilla prosecuted.

Lawyer Emmanuel Mallia appeared for Mr Zammit.
