Net TV sports journalist Robert Cutajar has filed a libel suit against the editor of Super One news and the author of a news item.

Mr Cutajar filed the suit - against editor Miriam Dalli and author Charlon Gouder - over a news item that was broadcast on October 9 about a court case in which a woman is being charged with defaming Mr Cutajar.

Mr Cutajar claimed that the news item was libellous and defamatory and was aimed at ruining his reputation.

Lawyer Joseph Zammit Maempel signed the suit.
