The Social Accommodation Department has received 22 applications from homeless persons, Social Solidarity Minister Dolores Cristina said.
She told Labour MP Stefan Buontempo in reply to parliamentary questions that the department defined a homeless person as being without a fixed address or applying from an institution.
The department, she said, had, 2,238 applications - 48 applications from persons who were divorced or whose marriage was annulled, 765 applications from married couples, 682 applications from separated persons, 140 from single persons and 603 from widows or widowers.
