Concert of sacred music in Mdina

The New Choral Singers will present a concert of sacred music in aid of the Malta Hospice Movement at the Mdina Metropolitan Cathedral on Friday at 7.30 p.m. The concert, which is being sponsored by Bank of Valletta, will see the choir perform M. A.

The New Choral Singers will present a concert of sacred music in aid of the Malta Hospice Movement at the Mdina Metropolitan Cathedral on Friday at 7.30 p.m. The concert, which is being sponsored by Bank of Valletta, will see the choir perform M. A. Charpentier's Te Deum for the first time. The choir will be split into main choir and chamber choir, accompanied by soloists Rosabelle Bianchi, Sharon Bord and Albert Buttigieg. John Aquilina, resident organist and choirmaster at the Mdina Cathedral, will accompany the choir on the organ as well as performing two solo voluntaries. The event will also feature a repertoire of masterpieces by composers such as Viadana, Rossini and Tallis.

The concert is open to the public. Entry is free of charge.

However, a retiring collection will be made after the concert and all proceeds will be donated to The Malta Hospice Movement.
