Two men were yesterday arraigned on drug-related charges.

Jason Michael Abela, 35, of Sliema, was remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to being in possession of cocaine and trafficking the drug. He was further accused of threatening, and assaulting the police, escaping from their custody and resisting arrest on Thursday.

In another case, John Kirkpatrick, a 35-year-old Scotsman, was fined Lm200 after pleading guilty to being in possession of traces of heroin and cannabis.

Inspector Dennis Theuma prosecuted.
